I recently wrote an Op-Ed piece which appeared in Sunday’s Washington Post. The piece, entitled “Don’t Close It”, focuses on the complicated issue of what would happen if, as President Obama has suggested, we impose an artificial deadline for closing our detention center at Guantanamo Bay.
It’s quite simple. We shouldn’t compromise our national security to score political gains, no matter who is in office. Read the entire article here, and then call your elected representatives at (202) 224-3121 to let them know you oppose the closing of Guantanamo Bay.

In regards to Gitmo I agree that there needs to be a plan as to what to do with these people before we release them into the world. I would however like to comment on another subject. Janet Napolitano should be fired for directing her agency to target and investigate people who simply have a differnce of political opinion with the Obama administration. It is unconstitutional and Un-American and should be stopped.
