Yesterday, Senator Mitch McConnell spoke out against Washington Democrats’ rhetorical energy plans calling them what they are: a “joke.”
Today, two Senate Democrats told us the truth. They don’t actually plan to pass anything that would lower gas prices. They simply want to look busy.
Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) tells us that Washington Democrats are “determined to walk out of here showing that we are responding more immediately to a concrete issue, which is the pain people are feeling at the pump.” (Roll Call, subscription required)
And Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL) reports, “I don't know if we're going to pass anything, but we certainly better vote on something before we go home.” (Congress Daily, subscription required)
As if that weren’t enough, Majority Leader Harry Reid continues to block the Senate from voting on any legislation that would expand domestic energy exploration and production.
Senator McConnell will continue to push for a vote on the Gas Price Reduction Act. You can join the fight by signing Senator McConnell’s petition today.
