LUNSFORD: WHERE DOES HE STAND?

The Senate is voting on historic legislation; Kentuckians deserve to know his positions.
The Senate majority today abandoned Climate Tax legislation supported by the Democratic leadership and called by Democratic Leader Harry Reid “the most important issue facing the world today.” The Herald-Leader editorialized in support of the measure this morning.
The Democratic leadership tried to rush the bill through to passage with only four days of debate and without allowing the chance to offer amendments. Is that really how we should go about solving our energy crisis? The bill would’ve created the largest reorganization of the nation’s economy since the 1930s. No votes were allowed on amendments to address gas prices, clean energy or protecting American jobs.
The Herald-Leader is not the only organization on the attack. The League of Conservation Voters issued press releases this week attacking Senator McConnell for voting against cloture on the bill and asked, “What are you afraid of?” Much to the consternation of out of state liberal interest groups, Senator McConnell has made his position clear.
But where is Bruce Lunsford on this issue? He still has not taken a position. Kentucky voters deserve to know where he stands.
McConnell campaign representative Justin Brasell asked, “Does Mr. Lunsford stand with The Herald-Leader, Barack Obama, and Harry Reid or does he stand with Senator Mitch McConnell? Kentuckians deserve an answer.”
“Oh,” Brasell added, “we still need to find out if Mr. Lunsford would have voted for the Budget passed by Senate Democrats this week.”
