Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, only the second Kentuckian in history to serve as his party’s leader in the U.S. Senate, has launched a new television commercial supporting his 2008 re-election effort.  The ad will air beginning today in the Louisville and Lexington markets.   

The new ad features workers from Paducah’s gaseous diffusion plant discussing Senator McConnell’s work on their behalf to secure fair compensation for injuries and to secure a mobile CT scan unit for early detection cancer screening.  These actions were taken by Senator McConnell after information came to light in 1999 detailing workers’ exposure to hazardous materials and unsafe working conditions.    Click here for more information from news accounts.
