Insight Communications in Lexington, Kentucky, has refused to air a television advertisement by a left-wing group calling itself “Public Campaign Action Fund.” The Lexington Herald-Leader ran a story this morning about the ad.
Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell stated, “This ad has been recognized for what it is – a complete deception. This program involving a Kentucky-based non-profit company is widely viewed as very successful. Their mission is a noble one, and I am proud to have played a small role in their success.”
The Kentucky-based non-profit Voice for Humanity has distributed audio devices with pre-recorded messages for democracy-building in Afghanistan and Iraq and for HIV/AIDS prevention in Africa. Their efforts have been extremely successful, and according to the Ministry of Women’s Affairs in Afghanistan, this program gave women confidence and dramatically increased the number of women who voted in elections.
McConnell Campaign representative Justin Brasell added, “The insinuation of this ad is laughable. This is just one more outlandish and ineffective attack funded by left-wing groups like MoveOn.org. Kentucky voters will grow tired of this kind of deception. It’s not often that these groups come up with something so ridiculous and untrue that it can’t be aired on television.”
