Earlier today I introduced a resolution calling for the consideration of the nomination of Judge Leslie Southwick to serve on the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals.  For too long this good man has been treated unfairly.  The very same Judiciary Committee which is delaying consideration of his nomination now previously voted unanimously to seat him on the federal bench.  Nothing has changed since that vote and I am hopeful reason will prevail and his nomination will receive the up-or-down vote it deserves.  The media and some blogs have taken notice of today’s actions.  Here is a link to my remarks.
